Director Manav Sohal’s latest offering Main Raj Kapoor Ho Gaya …(UA) has nothing to do with the showman Raj Kapoor but a tribute from director Manav Sohal to the greatest showman of Bollywood.
The film a Brandex Entertainment, Infovision Entertainment and Mumbai Talkies Company’s film is the story of a noble man who worships Bollywood star Raj Kapoor and tries to be like the characters portrayed by the actor Raj Kapoor on screen. He tries to do good for people but since not all are like him he gets challenged at every juncture.
The film begins on an interesting note and becomes more interesting as it progresses. The screenplay is good. The latter portion reminds us of the famous Kamal Haasan and Sridevi starrer Sadma. Dialogues are excellent.
Acting: Manav Sohal has done his best. Shravani Goswami as Laxmi, Arshin Mehta as Suman, Nazia Hussan as Madame, Kanchan Pagare as Raghu and Virendra Saxena as Pinto make their presence felt in the film. Other character Anant Jog as Police Inspector Shinde lend great support.
Manav Sohal has put in a lot of hard work and done his best to reach out to the audiences. Vidyut Goswami’s music is melodious and foot tapping. Raka’s cinematography is excellent, action by Mukesh Rathod does not much to the screen play and Sandeep Singh Bajeli’s editing is quite good.
Verdict: On the whole the film if gets a good mouth publicity it will survive but a must watch film over the weekend.
