Diwali, for me, means gathering of Friends and Family, eating a lot of sweets, dancing , playing cards, and capturing lovely memories. This happens every year, I can't wait for the festive season to commence. Diwali signifies killing evil. I am a very positive person. No place for evil or negativity in my life. I believe in spreading love, positivity and kindness in the world. That's how important the festival of Diwali is for me. and I celebrate it with full heart. Diwali as a festival is my favourite. It brings in a lot of light and positivity in life, but my most memorable Diwali would be when I got my dog, three years ago.

I will make a rangoli, decorate my house. We have Laxmi pujan in the evening and then dinner. Post pooja, we all get cash from the elders. Diwali is a festival of happiness, it’s a time to spend with family and friends, light diyas, eat sweets, time to bond and enjoy and welcome goddess Laxmi. Khoob Khao, enjoy. Next day is our new year, we go to temple, visit each other's houses, greet people, exchange gifts, sweets. During my childhood, we used to bust crackers. I look forward to this festival. I make different rangolis every year, put torans, and light diyas. It’s so much fun. Post pooja we go and distribute mithai to underprivileged kids.

Diwali plans are really exciting. Dressing up in beautiful ethnic dresses, meeting extended family , and I love to burn crackers a little bit, and enjoying delicious home foods and sweets.

Well, there is nothing concrete right now for Diwali. Depending on if I am shooting or not, I may just end up going for a day or 2 to Delhi. Otherwise, I plan to stay in Bombay and celebrate the day with my staff and have a nice relaxed day and enjoy a lot of sweets. I may end up going for any impromptu Diwali party invitations that may happen last minute but otherwise just plan to stay in Bombay. I just feel that Diwali is one festival where it's all about light, it's about new beginning, it's about hope, it's about faith, it's all about just going all out in achieving your dreams and more importantly, it's all about yummy yummy food and families coming together and it's just 1 of my favorite festivals. Now we have really become very environmentally friendly, that's something which I really miss. Well, the most memorable Diwali for me has always been all my Diwalis as a kid, lighting up the house with the diya's and candles, the pooja, then having a little prasad, going down and playing with all with the crackers, with your friends and that would go on for a while. I'll come up, have a quick bite again, go down, play with crackers. The most interesting part always used to be that it's a pre Diwali time, that musical ladi was something very fascinating. We would actually single out the entire Ladi and when we would burn that 1 musical ludy, it would actually fly away and you know make all every ludy herd its own sound like something and we used to be really fascinated with all those small things. So, I really miss that. And I miss all my friends and all the sweets of the Bengali market around Diwali.
