Story
It’s a story revolving around a woman who is slowly losing her sight whilst trying to investigate the death of her twin sister. It’s a remake of Spanish film Julia's Eyes.
Plus & Minus Points
1) Acting
Taapsee Pannu has done a decent job but her acting lacks variation and looks the same throughout. Her Double role is not properly established.
Gulshan Devaiah is quite impressive as her husband. Other star casts are strictly okay. Main villain (Abhilash Thapliyal) should have been played by a known actor. His character is badly written.
2) Direction
Direction by Ajay Bahl is pathetic. He handled the subject poorly.
3) Story, Screenplay and Dialogues.
Storyline is thin. It doesn't have the desired thrill, suspense, twists and turns.
Screenplays has many loop holes. In a crime thriller, whenever you have the strongest doubt on a particular person, you can be sure that he won't be the killer. So the director just picked up a random guy from the rest of the star cast and showed him as the villain. It's poor writing all the way.
The entire drama is dull, long & tedious to watch. Film is too depressing with zero moments to feel happy.
4) Editor seems to be confused throughout. Too many flash backs!!
5) Production design of the film in terms of photography, locations of Uttarakhand, background score and other technical aspects are strictly average. Film is shot in dark. It doesn't please your eyes.
Box Office Verdict
Most of her films in the last 3 years were released on OTT. Had this film released theatrically, it would have total disaster like her last release film Shabaash Mithu.
Taapsee Pannu has become the flop queen of OTT platform.
