Storyline:
Vikram Jaisingh, a 32 years old police officer working in the Homicide Intervention Team (HIT) of Rajasthan is battling with his traumatic past when an 18 year old girl Preethi goes mysteriously missing in Jaipur. Vikram realizes that the case has a personal connection and as the chaos unfolds, he steps in to finding the missing girl.
HIT is a remake of original Telugu film having the same title as well as the same director. Hit : Part 2 is already ready for release in the next two weeks with Adivi Sesh in the lead.
*Plus points*
1) Rajkumar Rao has done a decent job but needs to work hard on his dialogue delivery which is not audible some times and go over the top of the viewers. Let's hope in future he succeeds in getting at least one box office hit (upcoming films: Monica o my darling, Bheed and Mr and Mrs Mahi). Milind Gunaji is quite effective. The other supporting actors are strictly okay.
2) Director Dr.Sailesh Kolanu has tried to experiment with a fast paced film to thrill the viewers. He has succeeded to a certain extent. Film keeps the viewers hooked till the end being a mysterious crime-thriller film loved by the audience.
3) Photography is effective. Locations are eye-pleasing. Good production values, costumes & background score make the film visually beautiful.
*Minus points*
1) Sanya Malhotra has a minor ill-defined role. Just not worth it. She is surely a miscast to this film.
2) Story is quite confusing. There are too many characters making one wonder about the happenings. Screenplay is complicated. It requires to be simply narrated to the viewers for them to follow. Dialogues are strictly functional.
3) The pace of the first half is slow. Editing could have been sharper to hold the interest of the audience.
4) Music is below average. None of the songs have been heard or publicized.
5 Film fails to draw the audiences who'd not be interested in wasting time and money on such lame content knowing it will be easily available on OTT at the comfort of their home and time. OTT clearly has much better content to offer.
*Box office*
Film advance booking was almost 0 and shockingly many were not even aware of the film release. Friday collections in the morning shows were between <7%. Thankfully, the movie at least had "Hit" word in its title, because in reality it's a distant dream.
